Iwould be very surprised if anyone could look around our tiny worldtoday and not ponder the truism of such a simple remark. There is verylittle doubt that these current days would certainly qualify asinteresting.

Amongmany other concerns the world has been struggling with the rising costof energy, transport, and materials. These rising costs have ultimatelyaffected not only the price of gasoline that we put into our tanks, butthe price we pay for milk, eggs and cereal. It has also, notsurprisingly perhaps, greatly affected the costs for producingminiatures.

Todaywe are contacting all of our Trade customers globally to announce thatdue to these rising costs, we too will be raising some of our prices.

Wedo not do this lightly. We fully understand that the timing of theprice rise directly conflicts with our annual July price review and forthat we deeply apologize. I hope that you understand that this pricerise is not something Games Workshop Global desires to do, it issomething we have to do.

Thatbeing said, we wish to approach this change with the same dedication tocustomer service that we do for every endeavor. So for clarity andfairness I offer the following points:

We are contacting our Trade customers this week to prepare them for any questions they may have.

On Monday August 25th a message informing end hobbyists will be placed on all of our websites.

Prices will change September 29th.

A message will appear in our October White Dwarf.

Theprice increase will affect part of our paint and hobby ranges, as wellas a large portion of our metal models and printed materials.

Evenwith the pressure of rising costs we are adamant that we will not atthis time raise prices on any plastic model kits. Providing highquality, great value kits is fundamental to our corporate strategy andwill continue to produce and distribute them at the current prices foras long as we are able.

Our latest info puts these increases generally in the 15-25% range (on aper item basis) and they will be focussed on paints, paper books, andmetal minis. All plastic ranges are being held to their current prices.

It would seem that the global economy and commodities runup of the last 12months has finally caught up with GW as well. While the cost of goodsfor the minis themselves is a tiny fraction of the overall cost,transport and distribution costs have been through the roof globally.It appears that GW as part of their slow chageover to being aplastic-focussed company has decided to keep those ranges steady andpass the increased costs on through on the hobby, codex, and morespecialized metal range side of things.

Resumiendo:

GW dice que la crisis energética y el alza de los precios del petroleo tambien les jode a ellos, así que el 25 de Agosto (este lunes) anunciaran en sus webs la subida de precios, que será efectiva el 29 de septiembre, y que en octubre haran un comunicado en la White Dwarf.

La subida se estima que será del 15 al 25 % y afectará a libros, material de pintura, y minis de metal.

Eso explica los 22.5€ del codex marines y tal... y minis de metal aún más caras??? Mis eldar... mis guerreros de la senda, que aún me faltan muchos:pinch:

Es normal viendo la escalada de precios de todos los productos básicos y no tan básicos. De todas maneras las minis de plástico no las suben eso es un punto a su favor.
Ahora es cuando me creo enemigos, , creo de todas maneras que es un hobby barato si lo comparamos con otros, y nos da hora y horas de diversión.

Bueno sobre este tema, solo puedo decir que en mi ultimo pedido a GW en Madrid, la cosa me salio a 390 euros mas gastos de envio a China, unos 500 euros la operacion en total.

Lo de las subidas es normal, y como dijo un companero antes, y que conste que, como muchos sabeis a mi, lo que realmente me interesa es la lectura de codex, libros y todo lo que tenga que ver con el hobby, lo cierto es que merece la pena, y ya estoy pensando en mi siguiente compra del mes de octubre.

P.D.: Es cierta una cosa, no solo este hobby sino cualquier hobby va a subir de precio, alli en Espana muy rapido y pronto, pero os aconsejo que solo tolereis una subida anual, es un consejo, tomadlo como querais.

Lo que me hace gracia es que los precios suben el 29 de Septiembre y lo anuncian en Octubre, para que nadie que tenga compras planificadas haga un pedido de todo lo que necesita antes de la subida. Éso sí que es buena estrategia financiera, aunque mala para el márketing y la imagen de la empresa.

Hay le has dado, y ademas como no son listos ni nada, suben en octubre, avisan en septiembre, y despues de diciembre si el mercado va mal se pueden dar el lujo de subir dentro de 4 meses?????
